Dive into Lord Howe’s
Hidden World of Light
From: $350.00
Dive Lord Howe invites you to witness the reef in a way few people on ever have.
During our UV night dive, guests will use specialised ultraviolet torches that trigger an astonishing natural reaction: biofluorescence. Under UV light, corals and marine creatures absorb high-energy wavelengths and re-emit them as vivid colour—igniting the reef in electric blues, glowing yellows, ultraviolet pinks and luminous greens. Textures and patterns usually lost in darkness burst to life like underwater lanterns, giving the experience a dreamlike quality reminiscent of the “hidden world” caves in How to Train Your Dragon 3.
Weather permitting, the experience will take place at Neds Beach with lagoon vessel sites available as calm-water alternatives. Pricing includes all gear hire including 5.5 wetsuits and vests to keep you warm. Please bring gloves or thermal layers if you especially feel cold.
Exclusive to the Dark Sky Festival, this event offers a rare chance to explore Lord Howe’s reef through an entirely new lens—one that reveals just how alive the night ocean truly is.
